Molotov Radio

On March 26, 2011, in Studio News, by admin

Molotov Studio is pleased to be working on the launch of an online radio channel. The new station will be molotovradio.com and will broadcast prerecorded and live content. The live content will be streamed directly from our studio facility, and will feature Canadian acts and other International acts as they come through Vancouver.

The Molotov room is sufficient to accommodate acts with up to 5 members, and is always setup for live multi-track recording. The obvious next step was to simply mix the sound live and stream it out to the web. The live shows will feature an interview with the bands, followed by a live set. The total show will also be available to those who missed it live in podcast format.

For inquiries about participating in the new station please contact us via email. Currently we are assembling our full team and are interested in hearing from DJ’s and hosts as well as sound engineers.

Jordy Walker hands over to Ben Kaplan

On October 31, 2010, in Studio News, by admin

It has been a great year with Jordy. Some great records have come from his work at Molotov, for Tyranahorse, Stryker and Big Dog Walkin to name just a few. Jordy is going to be taking a leave for a while, and Molotov was uncertain about how best to carry on as Jordy is not someone easily replaced.

Molotov has been fortunate to say the least. Ben Kaplan, a friend for some years has decided to take the reins and will make Molotov home. Stay posted for more news and booking information, and please join us in welcoming Ben, and wishing Jordy the very best on his travels.

Philip is producing a Vancouver based artist who really wants to have the 3D Hi-Fi sound that Philip is known for. Collaboration between the two studios is already underway, and tracks done at Molotov are being sent and worked on by Philip in his own studio. Stand by to hear some very cool things………..

Recording Big Dog Walkin

On September 29, 2008, in Studio News, by admin

Big Dog Walkin (www.bigdogwalkin.com) is recording demos and doing pre-production for a new record. BDW has a very raw sound that is tuned for live performance, which makes Molotov Studio an ideal place to track. Molotov has a great natural live sound and is wired up for “off the floor” recording sessions.

Using the latest version of  MOTU’s legendary Digital Performer software, the Engineers at Molotov are able to work very fast, and with the best in fidelity.  This software drives the HD 192 Interfaces, which offer the best MOTU has for audio converters. Nestled in front of the 192’s are a selection of Mic Pre-amps from PreSonus, ART, Focusrite and TL Audio providing fat warm signals and great sound.  All of the instrumentation available at Molotov has been tuned and tweaked to perfection, so that our artists can relax and put their hearts and souls into performing their music.

Stay tuned for new uploads to the BDW website coming this fall.
